as a Friend

This blog is made for a special person who had been close to us with Jeffklein. Our mentor, teacher, colleague, secretary, writer, and most importantly a good friend. She had been with us in our four year stay in Misamis University. I had remembered the first time that we met at the DSA office.

I can’t forget the time that was around 6 o’clock in the evening. All the representatives from each colleges or the governors per say was there. I was wearing my red collard shirt and jeans.

I approached Odette and ask her with the signature rising eyebrows,

“Is this the DSA office?”

and she replied “yes”. She asked me,

“From what department you coming from?”

.
Again with same gesture I replied, “MEDTECH”.

“Taray kaayo ka te atong nangutana ko nimo atong first meeting nato”.

I will always remember those lines because she kept on repeating that when we have informal discussions of the memories we had on our first meeting with the CSC.

At that time, I can already sense a good heart in her. A nice lady and intellectual indeed. She is the all around in the office next to Sir Jo. She was practically as a whole an awesome woman. Correct me if am wrong but I guess that time that I’ve entered the DSA office that was her first time too as well as the DSA Director. “Am I right Jeff?” She had a lot of contribution to the Office of the Director not just professionally but being a person as well, a good friend. Weeks past and we were getting to know each other already. I can feel the family inside and outside the office including the SA’s. Mommy YURI, Jezreel, Nelvie. Sorry if I have forgotten some names. Me and Jeff I would insist, we can’t be what we are right now if we did not meet Odette in our lives. She is really nice, I can’t say it otherwise…
